The idea is pretty genius. #FirstWorldProblems has been a popular hashtag on Twitter, along with similar offshoots like #WhiteGirlProblems and @RichKidsofInstagram. So when looking to raise awareness for the Haitian charity, “Water is Life”, what better way to do it than show 140 characters from privileged Westerners… being recited by poor Haitians?

Seemed like a good idea coming out of the 5pm brainstorm, but fell a little short in production. The spot lingers near some benign notch of the emotional spectrum, failing to successful solicit humor, sympathy and guilt. Perhaps they would have been better to just show the Haitians.
